Universal Cup Challenge
Focused challenges that turn real company algorithm problems into contests for high-level participants.

Apply contest skills to real industry problems
Since 2023, Universal Cup has organized online and onsite events for high-level competitive programmers worldwide, connecting regions, universities, and contest communities. We want competitive programming to serve not only training and rankings, but also as a shared language between technical talent, industry, and academia.
Strong competitive programmers can address complex company problems, while real industry needs give contestants a broader stage than conventional contest tasks. Universal Cup therefore works with companies including Huawei to organize Universal Cup Challenge and turn company problems into complete focused contests.
This model has been used across Asia, Latin America, and worldwide online participation, with the format tested at onsite championships, finals, and online events.
Each challenge is built around three core tasks
- Define the problem: Work with the partner to establish its boundaries, data, and evaluation goals.
- Run the contest: Build problems and a platform for repeated submissions and measurable evaluation, then open them to the international Universal Cup community.
- Verify the results: Compare technical approaches, publish scoreboards and results, and connect partners with contestants for follow-up conversations.
